A great day for the 3rd, 4th and 5th class girls blitz groups and great to see some sun at last!! We were delighted to welcome both Boyne and Dublin North to Donabate. Superb hockey on display and the amount of training really showed through , keep up the hard work girls. Great to get the opportunity to play X8 format for the 5th class group which the girls really enjoyed.

Later in the day the U10 boys welcomed Skerries and North Dublin. A first for both Skerries and Portrane to play X8 format whilst the younger boys played their usual Super 6. Really nice to see the skills coming along and a lovely sunny afternoon made it even better! Thanks to our visiting teams for joining us and to all involved from our Club.

https://www.facebook.com/451715794940623/posts/1888330417945813/Hard luck to Portrane Men’s 1sts today in the Neville Davin Cup Final at Grange Road, Rathfarnham Vs a very experienced and street smart Railway Union team. Very proud to have reached a senior Hockey cup final in this our centenary year and also our first year back in Leinster hockey Division 1 in over 20 years. The boys gave it everything and after a difficult first half were much better in the 2nd half. A great experience for our young players and great credit to our more experienced players Imran, Mukhtar and our captain Chris Neville who played their hearts out and showed great skill under serious pressure at times. Great credit to our loyal supporters who stayed with the team throughout. Still a few important league games to play and here’s hoping our Senior Ladies can bring back the cup when they play their cup final in early April. The future is bright for the Purple and White. ... More Portrane players representing, With lots of schools finals taking place this week.

Today saw six of our boys represent their school Sutton Park in the Leinster Minor B Final against Kilkenny College and the Leinster Junior B Final against St Killians. Adam Eustace and Aaron Eustace playing on the Minor team and Ossain Elmiger, Fiontan Elmiger, Will Humpreys and Dara Dupree who play on the Junior team.

Both matches were drawn at full time results following 1 v 1s .
Minor Sutton Park (0) V Kilkenny (1)
Junior 2-2 full time, 1v1 result Sutton Park (1) St Killians (3) . Hard luck to the lads a tough way to go out of a final.

On Thursday Holly Harris from our 1st yr Blue team had a great result with her school Holy Faith Clontarf winning her Northside league title 2-0 against Dominican College Cabra and Holly was also on the scoresheet for the 2nd goal. Rebecca O Reilly one of our 1st yrs also represented her school St Andrews College in Final league matches last week.

Well done to everyone representing their schools this season, getting to finals is no easy task and requires a huge commitment to school training. Thanks to everyone for sharing their pictures fantastic to see so many Portrane players taking up hockey in their school.

Well done , keep up the hard work.
